Hair salon that uses low chemical dye?

Anonymous
I am fully vaccinated (yay!!) and desperately want to get my roots done and a nice cut for the first time in 13 months. I’m also 8 months pregnant.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a low-chemical (not sure that’s the right term, but you know what I mean) salon that will truly pamper me? I’m willing to throw money at this request, haha, and travel anywhere within the DMV that’s worth it.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but I honestly don't know what you mean by "low-chemical."

Are there specific chemicals you want to avoid, such as ammonia?

Madison Reed - they now have color bars in the area.

Or look for a salon that carries Framesi Eclectic, also less chemicals. I go to a place near Tysons/Vienna that uses it.

I'm looking for.this too OP. I used to go to a stylist who worked out of her home in Maryland but she moved away

She used Ecocolors, but I could not find any salons near me that currently use it; https://www.ecocolors.net/FindASalon/FindASalon.cfm

Know there is one in downtown Frederick that uses lower toxicity dyes, and one in Ellicott City and Baltimore. I would pay $$$$ to find one in metro Maryland, but so far I have struck out.

I just order the less toxic hair color and do it myself, since moving here. Otherwise, I tend to have allergic reactions and the stylist dismiss my concerns.

You want to avoid ammonia, PPD, parabens, phthalates and if possible synthetic fragrance.
