Recommendations for espresso/specialty coffee maker

Anonymous
Looking to spend some of my stimmie to treat myself to an espresso/specialty coffee maker. I currently drink folgers instant, so ease of use is key.

What I'm looking for:

-single cup (I am only coffee drinker in family and I usually only have 1 cup per day)
-espresso maker
-ability to steam milk
-DO NOT like the taste of Kcups! Have never had Nespresso but would be open to it as long as it tastes better than K cups (sorry not sorry)
- compact design

Willing to spend up to $200-300 for this splurge

You might search in this forum as there was a thread on this recently, though at a slightly higher price point. I recommend looking at machines on WholeLatteLove which has a huge range of machines and lots of very helpful information/reviews to help you pick something.

Please don't buy anything with aluminium cups that need to be thrown into the landfill.

Why would you throw them in a landfill? Aluminum is recyclable. Nespresso has a very simple free recycling program.

OP here- thanks! Will check that out! and Nespresso has a recycling system from what I read online. Can I go to a store and try the coffee before I invest in the system and pods?

Pre-COVID, yes. Not sure about right now.

Bloomingdales in Friendship Heights offers samples.

If you can find a Nespresso Creatista Uno, that fits your criteria. The Lattissimia One might also be an option, but it's closer to $400.

Saeco by Phillips. Love ours.

Oh, the Saeco doesn’t use pods. Put in whole beans. No plastic waste.

Yes, you can. There’s a store in Montgomery Mall.
