Baggy suits - anyone else excited about this?

Anonymous
I’m not looking forward to going back to the office anytime soon, but in the event it happens, I want to be ready. I haven’t gained any covid weight, but never lost the winter weight from when this all started, which I tend to lose in the summer every year.

Anyway, has anyone tried the h&m knock offs of these suits? Or found them anywhere else for more reasonable than designer prices?

Personally I never shop at h&m, but I want to wear baggy suits -

I am 5’4” and curvy, so probably a big no for me. I will keep my eyes open for an oversized blazer next time I am thrift shopping.

I don’t shop fast fashion, and I am 5’4 with 32G boobs. So that would look goofy on my body.

I love baggy suits. I am 5.4 and 130 lbs, 42 y.o. and I think i am going to buy that second suit. IMO, it's not even that baggy, looks lovely, and fabric composition sounds great. Thanks for sharing!

That wouldn't look good on me but I do appreciate a longer jacket. Maybe I can find one in separates. I'm tall and long waisted so finding jackets is tough.

I am 5ft tall and curvy so it's a no for me dawg.

This is only a style that will look fashionable on someone under 40, tall, and very thin

I think it’s all about proportions. I’ve been watching For All Mankind and season 2 takes place in the early 80s with a lot of professional women wearing 80s “power” silhouettes. But everything is tailored to their bodies. Like it will be a looser jacket with shoulder pads, but the shoulders are tailored to emphasize the shoulder not exaggerate it, and the fabric will have some drape so it’s not boxy. And everyone is wearing high waist pants with pleats, but some wear them with a wide, full leg and others are slightly tapered and cut closer to the body. But again: fabric is draped and moves so it’s not swallowing them up.

My favorite is this look though is this younger Mexican engineer (Aleida) who wears loose geometric print blouses with menswear styled jackets and drapey pants. Lots of black and white. It’s a very wearable look that is professional but unfussy and looks comfortable and not overly stuffy. Perfect for the post-Covid office. We don’t have to let go of our soft pants, we just need to class them up a bit.

The second one is not bad.
But neither are good for short athletic build.
I like the idea of soft and comfortable though — a tailored suit with a lot of stretch would be ideal.

Funny how absolutely no one (including myself) answered OP's questions. Which were not 'do your like baggy suits' or 'would you wear them' ))))

Oh, okay, my bad, she did ask in the thread title whether anyone is excited about baggy suits ) But she also asked some other questions in her first post...

OP, if no one tried that suite on and thus can't tell you what you asked, maybe just order it and return it if you don't like it?

What color are you buying?

I am most definitely not excited about baggy suits.

I am sort of short, flat and broad (5'4, 120) with no boobs or butt and this would not be a good look. The first link actually made me laugh.
