Best probiotic?

Anonymous
Dealing with mystery symptoms and ran out of things to test for. The Google rabbit hole is suggesting probiotics.

1- Are there downsides to using them (side effects or contraindications)?
2- Which is the "best" one? They seem to vary.

(No I can't just ask my doctor. Since a year worth of tests came back normal I think they just think I'm crazy)

There are probiotic pills that have lots of different strains and there are one that have only one or two or three. The better probiotic pills will specifically name the exact strain or strains.

Targeted probiotics can help with gut health (constipation or diarrhea), heart health, mood, specific intolerances or other specific health issues.

What symptoms are you experiencing?

Basically all things ear nose and throat. (5 ENTs have told me I'm fine). I believe the source is gut related. GI said I'm fine. Any brand recommendations? Cost doesn't matter much at this point.

My doctor recommended Florastor. There's something different about it that allows it to work through antibiotic treatment. I've anecdotally found it amazingly effective, though I started it because I was in a bad cycle of diarrhea and then constipation. It completely cured that. I've been using it daily for 3 years. It does not have multiple strains, but it works great for me.

OP have you seen an allergist? This has been a bad year for allergy and they affect E, N, and T. Right now trees are pollinating and they have a strong allergic effect.

Also, I tried a probiotic for mood and it made me (and my DS) depressed. Not sure why. Still very much worth trying. Also eat foods that have probiotics like naturally soured foods (sauerkraut, brined pickles, kimchi) and yogurt/kefir.

Yes. Absolutely no allergies.

Have you seen a naturopathic physician? Might be a good next step. I had lots of mystery symptoms and an ND immediately got to work and helped me resolve them.

Yogurt. Most of the ones in pill form are a sham and/or already dead and useless

I have found pearl to be very effective for stomach and yeast issues and it is tiny and needs no refrigeration.

Ditch all chemivals with smell and all cosmetics with fragrance. switch to baking soda and vinegar for cleaning and gp all fragrance free.

Stop eating all ptocessed food;

Go gluten free.

Vent your hoise once a day by openning windows.

Stay away from vents when yoi sleep, drive, work.

Do it for a month then you reintroduce one old junk at a time to catch the culprit.
