I'm American and live in the US. I've been helping my European friend with his English and he wants to give me a few bucks for my time. He wants to use Revolut.
It doesn't look like I can link it to a bank account. Looks like I'd have to use the Revolut ATM card. Am I missing anything? Any reason to not open an account? Thanks. |
I use it and I work at Revolut!! It has 15 million customers and over one million in the US and over 2,000 employees |
1. How much are transfers to a US bank account?
2. I see a $5 delivery fee for the atm card. How long from issue to expiration? |
Why would you transfer it to a US bank account? It is an ATM and Debit card just use it that way. Point is to leave money on the card. |
Transferwise. |
I tried to use it a few years ago but couldn’t get my US bank account to link because the US doesn’t use the IBAN protocol for numbering bank accounts. The rest of the world uses IBAN.
Not sure if that’s changed. |
They have a US bank and US broker dealer. We are hiring 100 percent WFH!! Come join us. We only have A plus Rock Stars. We get shit done!! |
USA OP here: Seems like it hasn't changed. I'm trying to request money from my friend in Europe and I get: "Requesting money via payment link is currently unavailable for US users" A plus rock stars??? Do a better job! |
Money laundering much? Why are you transferring between banks |
They will likely not give you an account because you are not a citizen or resident of a country they operate in. I’m surprised this isn’t obvious. |
You think the criminal billionaires of the world are using silly apps like this? Okay... |

Any recent experience? Thinking of getting an account for travel to EU (free ATM, good currency conversion rates?) |
I used it in Ireland last summer and Mexico a few weeks ago. No FX fees, lowest of any bank FX and free ATM withdrawals. I even get cash back in debit transactions. In Europe Revolut is king. They now have almost 30 million customers. You can keep cash in tons of currencies too. |
