COVID vaccine appointment at CVS and documentation

Anonymous
I am a professor who posted on the thread someone started asking when professors would be vaccinated. MD has put higher ed employees in their current priority group. I work in VA but own a home in MD and was able to get an appointment to get the J&J vaccine at the CVS near where my MD home is (!!!). The confirmation email says I will need to bring my ID. Does that mean driver's license? I'm afraid they're going to turn me away because its a Virginia license. If I bring my higher ed work ID, driver's license, and proof of my MD address do you think they will give me the shot? I am nervous! I feel like I am sort of jumping the line but I just want to feel safe on campus and I feel like VA is really lagging behind because group 1b is so large (higher ed is 1c in VA).

OP here. Just to clarify I own a second home in MD... primary address is VA hence why my license is from there.

Why don't you offer to show them your passport, your higher ed work ID, and proof of your MD address -- but not your driver's license?

That might work.

Just bring proof of MD residency (utility bill in your name etc) and higher ed ID.

Maryland is not turning away out of state ID holders. Rest assured you will be alright. I saw this on the MD Vaccine Hunters group. Many people have been successful at receiving the vaccine at CVS and other locations.

First, you are NOT jumping the line.

MD website says you do not need to be a Maryland resident to get a vaccine there. I thought someone posted a link on your other post. I don't see why you needed a second thread.

The only three things you need is an ID (no matter from where), insurance card if you have it and proof of eligibility.

Do you teach in MD? If you teach in MD that alone qualifies you to get vaccine in MD

My retired mom owns a home in MD but lives in Va. She got her vaccine in MD without any issues.

You can get the vaccine in MD. If you go to the cvs website and click on the different states where vaccines are available, some specify that vaccines are only available to state residents. Maryland does not say that. But to be safe, just bring a utility bill with your MD address, work ID and passport if your worried.

Does that mean I can get a vaccine in CO? I have a second home there and might be sooner in the age group that is eligible.
Until every grandma from Potomac that flips you off in traffic is vaccinated in MD, none of us with serious health issues(many do have them, but they are not on the list) who are younger will not see a vaccine.
The way this is going in MD, they will vaccinate Brazil before all of us putting up with our elderly moms who can't break off their bridge for a vaccine!

No links in the thread I was on. I think there were two recent threads about professors so maybe you're thinking of the other thread. Hope you didn't hurt yourself having to read some potentially redundant info.

Anyone who qualifies is welcome to go to Maryland it says it on the vaccination website for the state that they aren’t turning people away. See my link below. If you want the vaccine you have to go get it. No one is hand delivering it to you, they’ve presented you with options.
