Air Fryer Worth It?

Anonymous
I have heard some mixed things about air fryers and wanted to get the toddler mom perspective. Is it worth it? Is it better than the oven at getting things crispy? My toddler is currently into crispy vegetables but they can be tricky in the oven.

However, I don't want yet another gadget I barely use taking up space (I just don't use the instant pot that much, despite best intentions).

We have the cuisanart one that is a combination toaster oven, toaster and air fryer. We love it and, honestly, rarely use our oven anymore. It takes up a lot of counterspace though.

I bought a combo toaster oven/ air fryer and I’m glad I did. I don’t think I use the air fryer enough to justify a standalone purchase but it’s great for frozen foods like onion rings, French fries etc. I still roast veggies but maybe someone else can comment on that.

Absolutely. We have a basket corsori and just bought a second oven style one.

We make homemade chicken nuggets, crispy green beans, two ingredient bagels, homemade fries and lots more. My kids are older tween/teens but they love using the air fryer.

Everyone I know has said yes so now I’m in the market for one.

It really saves us time. Get one with a rack insert or pull out trays.

totally worth it. No waiting for the oven to heat. I've made broccoli and green beans both from frozen in there. I have a large cosori and loooove it.

The basket one I have is useless. It finally lost its countertop spot. Maybe the larger ones with racks are better.

I’m a big fan of the foodi one. It does so many different things, is huge inside, but folds up on the counter so it doesn’t take up as much space. I use it most days.

Salmon, broccoli and cod. Worth it for those alone!

If you are a family of 2 or less...the Phillips Air Fryer is a game changer. It the entire thing is dishwasher safe, so super simple clean up. Buy the American Test Kitchen Cookbook or similar and off you go.

Yes yes yes!!

I dunno, they all require non-stick pans. That might be a drawback.

How does it fold up?

Just recently got the 5.8qt Cosori and have used it daily since. Love it. Would love to get a second so I can cook 2 different things at once.
