APS: for kids who went back today - how'd it go?

My kindergartener goes back on Thursday - I'm sure it differs by school, but have so appreciated any tidbits or things we should prepare him for since he's never set foot in his school!

Everyone on AEM is complaining about how they didn't make them eat outside in 36 degree weather, so.

It's supposed to be sunny and nice all week. Lunch should be outside.

AEM would have found something to complain about. If they ate outside, they would have complained social distancing wasn't happening, or kids weren't wearing masks properly, or someone may have had the sniffles, etc. They will find something because they do not want in-person teaching/learning to happen.

We should ALL be trying to eliminate those things if we want to keep the doors open. Those safety measures directly minimize transmission.

You want a school shut down for an outbreak?

My first grader had a great day. She was so glad to be back, and the amount of effort that went into logistics for pick up was astounding. I really have to thank the teachers and administrators so much for pulling this off.

My kid doesn't go until Thursday but a friend's kid had rave reviews and minimal ipad use.

The sun was nice but the wind was cold! Great weather for recess, less ideal for sitting and eating.

Such a happy morning for us! Dropoff went smoothly. All were happy.

The one thing was, my child thinks she is limited to hanging only with her cohort at recess. This would be the half of her class she is in the same classroom with. Is that really so? Or can she hang with anyone in her class at recess as long as they are masked and 10 feet apart?

She is correct. Recess with your cohort only.
