Legal action

I know there’s a lot to this question but has there been any exploration of legal action on behalf of a class of FCPS parents against the Virginia teachers union and/or the school board? I’m not suggesting litigating here and causing a shitstorm, but does anyone know if it’s been raised or being organized?

There should be something done for Fairfax County residents to get some tax dollars refunded due to the lack of education provided by FCPS.

Well if you aren't suggesting litigating, what sort of legal action are you contemplating? Your post seems entirely contradictory.

If you want to sue someone, sue FCPS. The unions are not even unions. They are very small organizations with zero collective bargaining rights. Most teachers don’t even belong to them because they charge around $100/month in dues. They have no real power and are just a vocal minority. The decisions made this year are 100% on the school board and Brabrand himself

Parents sued over a racist book before. Why wouldn't parents as a class have standing in a case against the Board and union for negligence? Of course you could and any parent with a kid in the FCPS would have standing. I would join that class.

If a group of people could sue because of lack of education, who do you think would have standing? Hint: it wouldn't be the typical dcum crowd who can afford lawyers and whose kids go to the schools with high test scores.

That's why there is no general right to a (quality) education: because then all those families who go to schools you don't consider good enough would have the right to sue even during normal times.
