wall oven/convection oven microwave combo?

Anonymous
We recently moved to a home with a small wall oven and microwave set that is about 30 years old. I like the microwave /oven combo for daily use but every now and then I really want two separate ovens--like for holidays, hosting, etc. I feel like I've seen a convection oven that's also a microwave but am I making that up? And I would like one that matches, ideally--here's the catch, though, I hate it when the controls are at the top of the two units. I'm short, my kids are young and I want them to be able to microwave their own lunch or oatmeal or whatever, but with the controls on the top that gets a lot harder. All my online searches seem to yield oven sets with controls way up at the top.

Anyone have a combo like this and do you like it?

I have this. It was done by the prior owners renovation about 9 years ago. Kitchen aid appliances. I love have two ovens plus a microwave, but to be honest I don’t know how to use all the features. The microwave is a convection oven microwave or whatever that means. I don’t know what it does or when I should use it. The convection oven, I get how to use it and when and stuff. But the microwave oven I just use as a microwave.

Also my controls are at the top. Have never seen an appliance with them on the bottom.

Can you install two appliances into the space? All the one piece units I have seen have the controls at top.

I have this. It was the priciest option and I wish I hadn’t done it. We use a toaster oven much more frequently ans it suffices as a second oven for the rare occasion I need two. Cheaper just to get a Breville to have on hand.

We have one stove/oven, and a convection microwave (GE Profile, going on year 15). It is perfect! The maybe 3 times a year I need a second oven, I use the convection oven, and the rest of the time, it is used as a microwave.

I agree, a toaster oven is a better second oven than a combo microwave. Assuming you have space for it somewhere discrete.

GE makes a combo. We have that plus a standard convection wall oven in a wall stacked and also a large range.

We have that combo too (Viking but would not recommend the brand). Works great for extra small oven when needed. Also have a warming drawer at the bottom which I also love. Controls on top but I think that is normal.
