Teachers [Only]: Vaccine FYI

Dress warmly for your weekend appointment and bring a book. Wait time on Saturday was 1.5 hours outside before entrance the building. It is very well run and goes quickly once they check you in, though.

You will need:

Proof of appointment at first spot, paperwork with school employee proof [pay stub] at second, and ID at last spot.

Where it says title and site on the doc you bring along, you will be asked to write in your title and position even though it is under the heading "Inova Team Members".

The cleverest teachers had a drop off and pick up instead of circling the parking lot trying to snag a space as one became free.

Lastly, the 8100 Innovation Park Lane is not as GPS-friendly as 3300 Gallows Road.

Best,
Teacher

Were you initially scheduled for today or did you reschedule for today?

I was initially scheduled for today but still don't know when I'll be able to go back in.

Just wondering how backlogged they are.

Pretty good summary, although DW and I only needed our appointment verification and a form of employee ID (pay stub or badge).

We went on Thursday. Arrived in the parking lot just prior to 2:30 for a 3:00 appointment and I was done and in the monitoring area by 2:55. Weekdays seem to be less busy.

In the email verification you receive, there is a link for “maps and directions.” Just click on that blue hyperlink. It will connect you to google maps and bring exactly to the correct location. Don’t worry about the address. Also, if you can’t find parking, just park in the underground parking garage on the left as you enter the main parking area. Don’t circle looking for the perfect spot. That’s a time waster!

Has anybody heard anything about the second appointment? Colleagues of mine who got their first shots before January 26 were able to use a QR code while they were in the waiting area to schedule their second appointment, but I got mine Friday and they were no longer offering that option. So now I have no idea how that second appointment is supposed to be happen.

Very quick on Sunday for me, but Saturday I could not even get a parking spot.

Apparently, the health department will email us 2 weeks after our first dose.

I went Thursday and they said an email would be sent. The nurse giving the shot told me. A gentleman told me before entering the “recovery” area, and later I received an email from FCPS that explained it.

Thank you, that makes me feel better. I work for a private school and we have been totally on our own to figure all this out.

Yikes. Parent here, and I want you teachers to be vaccinated before RTS. Will send (another) message to school board to push for this. Thanks for all you're doing!
