Taylor was starry eyed and in LOVE here. This is the definition of chemistry:

Surprise guest in Jan. 2023, something she almost never does. He was on her left, she kept looking at him and grinning the whole performance:

You can thank Lana Del Rey.

Pretty big Taylor fan though don’t know much about the Easter eggs or her personal life - pretty much a fan of her music only. I think Ruin the Friendship is going to end up being in my top 10 songs of hers so that for me is worth the album.

I like that song too. It sounds just like “It Ain't Over Til It's Over" by Lenny Kravitz. Every song on this album sounds like an older song.

Charts are all fake these days. And she jukes every chart with a dozen variations and several mediums (digital, cassette, vinyl, CD) all her craziest parasocial fans buy up.

Parasocial precisely describes her rabid haters who continue to froth at the mouth about her while claiming they couldn't care less. You are just so amusing to the rest of us.

Yep, I actually don’t understand how someone could hate Taylor. If you don’t like her, then you don’t like any celebrity. I’m not talking about her music but she’s a good person so how anyone could hate her is beyond me.

LOL- a good person? At least be honest. She could solve world hunger if she wanted to or use her influence to shed light on significant social issues (which, yes, should be your responsibility when you’re a billionaire) but instead she’s going around trying to sue college students who are working to try to make the planet a more habitable place in the future. Anyway, I just dropped into this thread to see what it was about and I’m not going to come back and get into a weird back and forth with people who spend their time defending billionaires who exploit their fans for her own narcissism, ego, and to line her pockets even more. Enjoy debating this crap!

Shes given thousands to every single food bank of every single city she performed in and gave a 100, 000 bonus to every single person on her tour and has donated to many charities. Shes a very generous billionaire and a good person.
You on the other hand…,, and nobody believes you just glanced at this thread. You haters would literally bring down anyone in life doing better than you.

Why do you want Taylor redistributing our wealth instead of some one you elected?
??? Don’t understand what you’re asking

There isn't a straight man in the world who enjoys Swift concerts. I contend both Kelce and Healy are closeted homosexuals.

Was Wood her attempt at stealing Beyoncé’s Drunk and In Love? So so so awful.

I honestly think Taylor is an alcoholic and isn’t thinking straight.

I don’t get all the showgirl imagery either, it feels very off because Taylor just isn’t sexy. She is pretty, talented, successful, seems like a good person, etc. etc. but IMO she has zero sex appeal.

I think the showgirl theme is pretty clearly about her time on the Eras tour…

+1
And life on the road is not at all glamorous. She's portraying "the life of a showgirl" ironically, not literally.

The switched on Pop guys had a great episode on this album that got into the (many!) golden era/showtunes references on this album. Fred Astaire, Irving Berlin, jazz clubs… it gave me a new appreciation for the album and its “theme” for sure.

She writes sad songs and she’s criticized.
So then she writes happy songs and she’s criticized.
If you don’t like her, that’s cool. Plenty of other artists out there to choose from, but some of the mental gymnastics to land on “hate her” is too much. Just say you don’t like her, you don’t need to act like she’s single handedly responsible for ending world hunger. That’s absurd. She does more than we know of most likely.

She's criticized for this same reason she's praised (and she's praised a lot) -- she's enormously successful and her music is everywhere. Therefore everyone has an opinion on it. The criticism is a reflection of her overall popularity. That's what it is to be the biggest pop star in the world.

I say this as a fan of Taylor and her music. Being thin skinned about the criticism is pointless.

I stand by suggesting that she’s responsible for ending world hunger is preposterous.
