Interesting her two diss albums (IMO) Red and now TTPD both followed very very short but passionate relationships. |
Yes, I’m happily married and approaching the 2 decade mark with my husband. We have 2 kids and I’m thankful for our family. But I’m human. I still periodically look into past boyfriends and crushes and what they’re up to. Even been known to have the occasional sex dream about another guy. people are messy and life is complicated. I still love my husband and our life but I haven’t perfectly shut out my past or closed myself off entirely from experiencing conflicting emotions. Taylor isn’t a mom or married so I imagine this is even more straightforward for her. Plus come on, some of this is just songwriting for the sake of songwriting. She is able to harness emotions and thoughts and build a song out of it. Doesn’t mean every word is biographical. |
You think this is a diss album?! I’m baffled. |
Taylor writing songs about longing for a past love is the healthier equivalent to people who are 45 Facebook messaging their high school boyfriend to “see how they’re doing.” |
And now we realize this pining has been going on for TEN years. |
Why is Tortured Poets Department abbreviated as TTPD |
I’ve always thought Travis was good PR (for NFL too) bringing her fans into the fold. She wants to be over her longtime muse and can write about closing a chapter and boarding it up but does that change her deepest feelings? I’m not so sure. |
The Tortured Poets Dept. |
Ah |
I don't know Healy's music.
Does he also write songs about his relationships? Will he answer back with his own post mortem on every aspect of the relationship and his thoughts both good and bad about Taylor - maybe a Smallest Woman song? I do love the idea of him doing a cover of We will never, ever, ever get back together! |
Matty Healy wasn’t short. She has been in love with him for years. Before, during and after Joe. Just listen to the lyrics in End Game, Illicit Affairs, Cardigan or Question, to name a few. How are people still not getting this? |
10 that we know of, that’s when they were first spotted publicly. But they might have known each other even before that. I’m actually now questioning some of the songs on 1989 too. Style fits MH a lot more than Harry Styles. Maybe they weren’t dating or having passionate trysts yet at that time, but she could have already been under Matty Healy’s spell and writing about them. There are certainly stories online of her going to his band’s concerts and acting totally smitten. It’s possible she used titles (Style) and descriptive phrases to dupe everyone, the same way she misled the public about who this album was going to be about or about her 6-year long “Endgame” relationship with Joe, which was probably mostly just a front. I enter into evidence the lyrics in Endgame itself |
He is not as prolific as her. About You and Part Of The Band are about her. There are many elements, specific words and phrases in other songs and music videos of The 1975’s that she has referenced in her music. |
Style is soooo about Matty Healy. The way she described it is very much in line with what we now know. |
Sex is a permanent bond. Religious people are actually right about that. Sex is a spell |
