I remember my kid played against the 2009 team when they were SYA. They had a lot of talent on that team. Seems like Valor did a good job pushing them out. |
I agree, emergencies happen. This is a pattern of behavior, zero communication with the parents and not a one off situation. PE has been made aware of the situation and nothing has changed. |
Tryout registrations must be down-just got an email from SYA begging rec kids to try out and to invite their friends and neighbors. |
Some of talented players went to VDA. They had a bad coach when they were SYA who is now being roasted in another thread. |
At 3K + uniform a head i can imagine parents paying for rec are side eyeing Valor. The younger age groups are their bread and butter so curious to see what happens. |
What thread is that? |
Pretty sure it is the FC Virginia thread |
agree 2000% |
Valor is not located in some posh area where that's chump change. People can just go to Burke or Herndon or FPYC clubs bordering Valor territory and pay $1000 less or more for a club that doesn't have 65 pages of bad reviews... |
That's called marketing, the whole purpose of establishing Valor was to pull from SYA and CYA. |
But then when the rec kids show up to tryouts they put them on the same field together and don't pay attention to them..... it seems they are just seen as filler for the 4th, 5th 6th teams. |
ummmm yeah. filler paying 3000 a pop! |
All clubs send tryout notices to their rec programs. Call it whatever you want, but of course they do. CYA and SYA are Valor's rec programs. They send their coaches in to assist with the rec programs, and they conduct coaching education for the rec coaches who want to go to them. I see nothing wrong with this.

Yes, they wanted to separate out the travel soccer finances so the Valor guys could keep all the profits internally, pay themselves $$ and not share any profits with the rec leagues, but they wanted to keep the benefits of the rec league (using the Fairfax county rec league field permits instead of having to qualify for their own, access to rec league players for recruiting). unclear why CYA agreed to such a one sided deal. |
Anyone know who is going to be coaching the 2014 girls teams? |
