Canceled teacher vaccines rescheduled starting today

Thankfully, this isn’t going to cause the huge delays that were feared.

Yes. I was online when the email came through last night and jumped at it. I was able to schedule for today.

I'm going first thing tomorrow. I hope that this is planned appropriately and that people in group 1b will be able to get the second shot. It seems weird that we were canceled due to a shortage and then suddenly there are thousands of vaccines...

Northam is a sh*tshow.

They weren’t cancelled because of a shortage, just who was giving them out.

Why did every news article give shortage as a reason then?? None of this makes any sense.

Are you following the news? The day after vaccines were paused and started, Biden committed to surging vaccines for the next three weeks and 17% more doses released each week. He was able to give exact number, which Trump had never done. Because competence. The issue wasn’t no vaccines. It was uncertainty about how much vaccine with appointments scheduled. It’s what made all the teacher drama the last few days so annoying. Things were pushed by less than and all of sudden it was “nope, not this plan either”.

Teachers have got to be the whiniest group of people on the planet. How do you think the 75+ feel when they were push for a month for teachers? How do you think those of us who have parents waiting feel?

Because with Trump the number of vaccines shipped were erratic, like him. And missing doses. So, the got less last week. Biden is surging doses and guaranteeing number of doses 3 weeks out for them. So, this should not happen again.

So please. Quit complaining and go back to school.

It seems the Karen brigade is strong on the forum today. I'm bored already.

It does make sense. See the above posts.

I am an ES teacher. I was able to reschedule for today which is even a few days earlier than my previously assigned window. I’ve been willing to teach in person since last summer and if this makes it easier for us to open schools, great. Let’s stop looking for barriers.

I am a private school teacher and my original appointment was yesterday. Am i going to receive an email automatically to reschedule or should I constantly check the inova website to schedule a new one from scratch?

That’s a good question for your school admin.

The school admin doesn't care, he told us to schedule the appointments ourselves.

The messaging has been hugely problematic. The vaccines aren't a scarce resource in the sense of having a permanently finite supply. Pfizer and Moderna are manufacturing millions of new doses per week. The machine didn't break. All a delay means is that various stakeholders are figuring out how to distribute those continuously-manufactured doses to given channels.

Agree. Also, political gamesmanship.

Screaming "vaccine shortage" when the state has only dispensed half of what they have is for show.
