online classes or other ways to socially engage?

Anonymous
My child is struggling because they attend a small school and the social outlets are limited. Looking for ideas about ways to engage outside of school that would possibly translate to IRL friends after Covid times. Would try an online art class or something like that, but it has to be one that involves some interaction (over Zoom) between the participants. Any ideas?? We are in NWDC

Not sure if will lead to in person friendships, but my teens are doing Outschool classes. There are traditional classes, social clubs, and more fun oriented sessions. Mine recently did an Office escape room and really liked that. They have done art classes, a smoothie making class, and several writing classes.

For boys, this is one of the main ways to "hang out."
