I need a new stove and dishwasher; looking for recommendations

My budget won't allow for top of the line; I'm hoping I can keep this purchase under 2.5k but willing to go up to 3k if necessary.

Any suggestions on must-have features or features you thought would be great that aren't? What's the best way to shop for and find a good deal? Favorite stores to buy appliances from?

My home is all electric so a gas stove is out.

Only advise I have is when I was purchasing a new refrigerator the salesman (who my dad had known for years) told me that Samsung has the highest rate of repairs.

Most highly-rated models in the affordable price tier are sold out everywhere. Unless your existing unit is not working, you should wait.
IME Costco provides the best value, considering their great return policy and delivery + install included in the price. This is where I look first, but again, this is not a normal situation and I had to shop at HD, Lowes and Best Buy because my need is urgent.

Wait if you can, shortages everywhere. Definitely buy a Bosch dishwasher!

We just got all new appliances - went with the GE Cafe line, which is supposed to be a little more modern/high end than than the GE Profile line, which is probably GE's most popular line.
This is the first time we've had to buy kitchen appliances and frankly we didn't do like hours of research because I knew I wanted reliable, all from the same brand, and didn't want to go crazy on the price. Also, we needed to order ASAP due to our kitchen remodel. I am sure others will criticize this approach, but just wanted to let you know that my opinions are not based on meticulous compare and contrast.

All in all, they are appliances and they work. That is my overall review. They are also attractive in the kitchen.

The dishwasher has a lot of bells and whistles and a million different settings. The best thing about it is that is is quiet - you can talk on the phone, watch a TV show, listen to music while the dishwasher runs. It has this top drawer to lay things flat to wash, like spatulas, jar lids, etc. I like that drawer thing, but it makes the rest of the dishwasher small and nothing can stick up too high on the upper or lower rack. The rack is your same old kind of flimsy dish rack with plastic containers for the utensils. The salesman told us it would get the dishes totally dry - no wiping tops of cups! and it does on the Ultra Dry setting that takes 3 hours. It is fine.

The stove/oven is a double oven slide in gas stove. It has the controls on the front (pic below). It is also fine. If you are not tall and skinny you risk your body running into the knobs on the front as you try to cook on one of the back burners. I wanted the double oven with the small oven on top and I still give this feature a thumbs up. It does make using the lower oven a little odd as it's really low to the ground, but I lived in USG provided housing for a long time, so this is an improvement over lighting the oven with a pilot light every time or trying to cram a turkey in my Euro oven. There are different size burners and the boil one does work really well. I like that.

^^Oh, and we went with Bray and Scarff because we thought the customer service would be more personal, we had a salesman show us around and answer questions.

I wouldn't do that again - I'd go with lowest price for sure. It was like pulling teeth to get them to just TELL ME what date they were expecting the appliances - we knew about the backlog and the estimate slid back, but I had to call again and again to get any information.

The delivery guys were super nice though.

so hard to buy appliances right now. Orders are backlogged for months.

I really like our miele dishwasher— the entry level/cheapest one is all you need.

Thanks for the recommendations, this is very helpful.

My dishwasher barely cleans my dishes anymore. I'm still using it, but can only put a half-load in and have to run it on the heavy-duty cycle. It's been like this for months, I've put it off long enough and I'm just sick of it. I need a working dishwasher.

My burners work on my stove, but the oven stopped working 2 months ago. I've been debating if it's worth it to get it fixed and have decided at this point it's not. We've replaced the minor inexpensive parts and now we're down to the very costly control board replacement.

I've taken about all I can of these two halfway working appliances. Even if I have to wait for something that's back ordered, just knowing I have something coming down the line is going to be a weight lifted off my shoulders.

GE or Whirpool. No Samsung.

I feel for you OP. Have you considered checking the dishwasher pipes for blockage? I made my DH do it after much nagging and the situation improved a lot.

Cafe is outside the OP's range.

I love my Bosch dishwasher. I've had GE, Samsung, Kenmore, Whirlpool. Bosch is hands down the best.
