What are college acceptance like for the non-athlete, non-legacy, middle 50% at SSSAS? |
i would assume its the same as any other school for that demographic. doesn't matter anymore which private you attend. |
That's not true. |
It pretty much is- catholic schools will have might notre dame admits, but kids in this area from the same background look at the same schools and end up going to the same schools regardless of their high schools |
That's not true. SSSAS matriculation for 2020 is on their website. Only five headed to Ivies. Top school with 7 is Virginia Tech and then 5 each at Elon and University of South Carolina. That's fine, but the record of any of the Big3 is very different. |
This. And not much different than TC. |
College acceptances aren’t everything but that is pretty awful considering the tuition they charge. |
non-athlete, non-legacy, middle 50% is not going IVY or even top 25 at Big3. |
Not true. |
Agreed. The kids in this category will likely end up at a top SLAC, and should be competitive for large universities in the 15-25 rankings. |
What if you’re a top SSSAS non-athlete student? What are their college prospects? |
They’ll end up at a need aware SLAC- look at the threads of parents freaking out over their kids with big 3 GPAs around 3 |
5 to uva is impressive.
maybe that student body isn't as obsessed with "name schools" and prefers to go where they will be happy. |
Seems to be pretty much like a good DMV suburban high school. Something seems off. |
PP here -- yes I agree that is where they end up not at Ivy or top 25. |
