OBGYN with on-site ultrasound machines and technicians?

Anonymous
I moved from New York to DC and need to find and OBGYN. At my old practice they had all the ultrasound techs and machines right there so there was no need to shchedule additional appointments and be carting around town. Which I can’t seem to juggle sustainability.

Does anyone have a practice amd doctor they live with the ultrasound right there?

A particular Doctor?

I go to Bloom and they have an ultrasound and tech on site, but they aren't taking new patients who are pregnant. If you're not pregnant yet though, you could probably get in as a new patient. Not sure if you're pregnant now or just thinking ahead.

I second this. The only thing I had to do offsite was my second gestational diabetes test because the in-office one was a little off. Everything else was in-office, and they are very good at scheduling so that you don’t have to sit around between bloodwork/doc/ultrasound.

I liked all the docs I saw there, but especially recommend Dr. Anna BuAbbud. She was super easy to talk to and very supportive, and always made me feel reassured (I was a high-anxiety pregnant person).

Foxhall OB/GYN, but not with my particular insurance so you should call to confirm.

Arlington Women's Center.
I had my ultrasounds, blood/genetic testing, glucose test and group b testing all done at the office. Usually I would have gone to another office for the glucose test but due to the pandemic they were trying to limit the exposures so they offered everything in house.

But if there was an issue or if I was high risk they would send you to another office which was on the other side of the hospital(VHC) for ultrasounds.

Good luck and congratulations.

I have also been super happy with MFA Bethesda. I see Dr. Sheth or Dr. Gallagher. Dr, Gallagher is a high risk fetal medicine doc and he usually has a resident with him but you can refuse if you don’t want them there, though it hasn’t bothered me. The lab is onsite so I had my 1 and 3 hour (after failing my 1 hour) glucose tests there. They have done a great job of scheduling my ultrasound right before my appointment. I have had a lot of issues and have had a relatively easy time getting in when needed, and haven’t ever had to wait more than a minute or two past my appointment time.

+3 on BuAbbud. I think the only thing I did offsite was genetic screening (at the GW downtown office)

Physicians & Midwives in Virginia. So far my care has been fine. The reason I changed ages ago is this practice always runs on time and it's easy to get an appointment. They deliver at Inova Alexandria.

They recently re-organized things - now MFM and OBGYN at VHC are all in one area. Seems well organized - it sounds like maybe most or all ultrasounds happen on the MFM side, even if you’re not an MFM patients. Something about the staff being more specialized in that or something.

I've not heard of any practice that does NOT have ultrasounds/blood draws on site.

CWC has everything on site. I think its more the rule than the exception.
