Air fryer for large family

Anonymous
I'm the mom of a family of 6, and I'd really like an air fryer. It seems that most air fryers are made for smaller portions - does anyone have recommendations for an air fryer that can actually fit enough food for my family?

Get a convection oven instead. I love my air fryer but it's just for one or 2 people.

I guess cuisinart makes a toaster oven/air fryer now but I don't think it will be big enough for you.

Mom of 4 here. We love it for reheating food like nuggets and fries, and love cooking tofu. It does get crowded, but we manage.

OP here - what brand do you have?

I'm not sure, OP.....I really wanted one so put it on my Christmas list. Now that I have it, I never want anyone to use it b/c it's big and bulky, plus there are 2 pieces that have to be hand washed. What I really like, that I never would have guessed, is a toaster oven. I do everything in that thing!

I think you just answered a question I had. If we already have a convection oven, is that same or better than air fryer? I thought air fryer did something different but now reads they are same or oven may even be better.

Another option is to put a rack on a baking sheet and put your food on the rack, then cook in the convection oven. Thing about an air fryer is that it has air circulating completely around the food and you can recreate that with a rack.

We do have an air fryer. But it is bulky and we only use it if my wife and I are making something that only we will eat. It is small and kind of impractical for a larger family. I have a big kitchen with more storage than we need but if I didn't, it is not an appliance that I would use space for.

Agreed. I got an air fryer for Christmas last year and have used it 3 times.

I thought I wanted an air fryer. My full sized oven is also a convection oven, and when I use it, I don’t notice any difference. Is this what I should expect with an air fryer? Why all the hype?

I have a Samsung convection oven and find that the "roast" convection setting is better than the bake one. It makes perfect fries, roasted potatoes and pizza
