Anyone from NYC that can tell me about Grace Church School??

We're downtown and while we are applying to a lot of uptown schools (there is quite a big cohort from downtown that go to all of these schools), Grace Church is lovely and about 10 minutes away. The school is not as established as the older uptown single sex schools so there is really not a lot of information online.

From what I can find, it seems like a great school and people love it. A bit more progressive than the uptown schools. I'd love to hear if anyone has any bit of insight for me? Ever since UrbanBaby got closed down, I'm not sure where to post my NYC questions!

Grace Church School (GCS) is a great school. Both of our kids are successful and happy graduates. I think you may have some incorrect information about the established schools as Grace will be celebrating it's 125th anniversary in a few years. GCS is co-ed, so if you are looking for single sex education than Grace is not the place. Among co-ed schools, GCS is competitive with schools like Trinity, Dalton, Horace Mann, Friends, Little Red, etc. Grace is a nice combination of progressive education with a rigorous college prep focus, and a friendly community of families and friends. Grace is an Episcopal School, but is independent in governing structure from Grace Church and is open to families of all faiths or no faiths. For our family, the connection of tradition and an openness to discussions about ethics and values alongside science and the arts was the perfect fit. Not sure what grade you are looking at, but they accept applicants at all grade levels. (Check with admissions.) The high school class is currently about double the size of the middle and elementary school. Hope this helps!

The Grace HS is pretty new, though, which might be what op means.
