JBJ famously criticized Richie Sambora for leaving the band...in a whiny sort of way.

As we now know, Richie left to care for his daughter since her mom/his ex famous train wreck Heather Locklear had serious issues.

Fast forward: Richie’s daughter is a straight A student in grad school who leads a normal, happy life. (No clue what JBJ’s kids do.)

I think everyone realizes JBJ’s music without Sambora all sounds the same...blah.

I hope he apologizes for his stupid behavior. What a jerk.

I'm amazed by people who claim to love Bon Jovi. Is it nostalgia? Somehow they transitioned to earning a respectably Journey-ish classic rock reputation, even though they were a G-rated Motley Crue.

I dated a waiter when I lived in NJ during college and he said it was common knowledge among waitstaff that JBJ would give attitude when presented with a bill. He expected to be treated like royalty when in NJ. No idea if this was actually true or just gossip.

It sounds like Sambora was a better musician and JBJ was doing well because of him and when he left JBJ couldn't do as well without others making him look good. Sambora has my full respect for putting his daughter first and doing a great job with her.

This is not new. He has said before that he wished Richie had his shit together. In a professional and personal sense.

I don't think Sambora's struggle with drugs and alcohol is a secret. His dad died, and then Heather served him with divorce papers. The guy was a wreck for years. Drunk on stage, etc. Being on the road was not good for him. He has maintained his privacy since he left the band.

At the time all JBJ would say Richie just didn't show up for work one day.

The band is not the same without him.

Well, if we're going on 3rd or 4th hand information my brother's friend was friend's with Bon Jovi's sound engineer, and says JBJ is a good guy. Richie was a mess. Tico Tores has an ego.
