"A Reliable Wife"

This book is horrible! It is trite, derivative, overwritten...just plain bad! I mean stinkeroo! How did it get such good reviews?. There are NO plot twists...just a bunch of dithering by the heroine and a semi re-write in the middle that occurs because the author doesn't play fair with us.

This book just plain sucks...why is it so popular?

I dunno. just downloaded it on my nook. I guess I'll find out.

I was also underwhelmed. I didn't think it was terrible, but I didn't think it was anything special, either.

Ditto. I guess the plot pulled me in a bit but I couldn't connect to the characters at all--the long, flowery passages describing their inner psyches rang hollow to me.

Thanks! I downloaded the sample on my nook and was not impressed with the first two chapters. I was thinking of getting anyways since it was selling well. I'll just try to find something else.

I actually liked it. I think expectations change your views. I picked it up at the library and had never heard of it - - no reviews etc. It's not amazing, but I thought it was interesting.

Well, people would buy a book about the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause, and, from the title at least, this book is kinda the same.
