You are a very petty person. Congratulations.

Congrats to Sidwell.

Great to see their football program on the rise the past years. Their coaches and players should be very proud .

GonzAga homer, take a deep breath, no one on here is saying Sidwell is better than gonzAga in football.

Congratulations to Sidwell, the players, coaches and AD. Love to see how far they've come. They should rightly be very proud.

Sidwell has 2 -3 players on their squad who could have started for Gonzaga this past Fall.

It really seems like Sidwell has made an emphasis to elevate their football program which is great to see.

I would love to see Sidwell play some IAC schools next Fall (St. Albans, Landon, Stephens, Bullis etc.) and see how they do.

Congrats to the Sidwell community and their players, especially the seniors for sticking it through the end (I recall 4 years ago, Sidwell's football program was nearly non existent) and deserve a lot of credit.

How far they've come? There are about 60 teams in the DMV that would pulverize Sidwell. They have boosted their record by playing nobodies.

I love the hate for a successful football team. Every high school, no matter how good, has another that could "pulverize" them. The Sidwell success is not about turning the school into a football powerhouse, it's about turning a program that was failing into one that can compete with its peers. I'm happy for the team, next year will be another journey because that's what high school sports is about.

I don't get this sort of reaction. Sidwell probably has 250 boys total in the high school. Why would they be measured against big schools? It's why college sports have Division I, II, and III, and the FCS (old Division IA). The team that wins the Ivy League wins against comparable competition and should be proud of that, even though it's not the SEC or Big 10 or PAC 12. So, DC had a state tournament for smaller schools, and Sidwell won it. Why does somebody feel the need to denigrate a nice accomplishment by kids? It's not the NFL. Remind yourself that these are still kids and try not to be so grudging next time.

What a completely ignorant comment. Crawl back in your hole.

Rather than switch schools when the going got tough (as you see regularly between Landon/Bullis, etc), it seems like these kids stuck it out and contributed to building something positive. Good for them.

A little recruiting went a long way. Thanks Tom F. Now will it continue under Mr. Garman?

Remember, they built their gym during the period that the current seniors were in Jr High. So now they had a chance to back fill their team. The same thing is happening with St Albans and their new fields.

Football is for bone heads...soon to be air heads. Plain and simple. Only pure non intellectuals will continue to play in the latter half the century.

The Gonzaga insecurity is live and well on this thread.
