General Architecture book for 5 year old?

Anonymous
My son is into building and architecture and wants a book about buildings. We have Iggy Peck, but I think he wants something that can teach young kids about the different kinds of structures and basic concepts like suspension, cantilever, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 5 year old? TIA!

Here is a resource

Thank you. But searching for "architecture" on Amazon doesn't actually come up with what I'm looking for. None of these teach the basics of building or structural engineering and none are appropriate for 5 year olds.

They are children's books on architecture, did you look at the link?.
You could also call your public library and ask the children's librarian for suggestions and to pull books for you.

I did look at the link. None are what I’m looking for. Did you?
Library is a great idea.

Have you ever used teachers pay teachers? I use it for my homeschool activities. Here is an architecture activity book that may help. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Architecture-and-Architect-No-Prep-Building-Drawing-Activity-Packet-2547832?gclid=CjwKCAjwtNf6BRAwEiwAkt6UQqrDquCvlLkD1pIHmkHsae4sPllcQ_BRDTEszi7ct4EiIsFQaob0QhoCnrsQAvD_BwE

You have to print this yourself though.

David Macaulay's books Castle, Cathedral, and Mosque, among others might be good choices.

Not OP, but you are brilliant. I have used TPT for my classroom, but never for my own kids. Thanks for the tip.

thanks! TPT literally got me through the summer. Honestly, sometimes when my daughter is bored, I let her log on to my account and click the “free” filter and let her print activities she wants. She’s 8 and she gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. Prices are way better than the generic workbooks you find at lakeshore or amazon. Plus, you are supporting teachers/educators which is a huge plus.

I’m not finding any for 5 year olds. Could you point me in the direction of a few?

Thank you, cool book. But looking for something that will help my kid learn different ways of building. Maybe I need to be looking at engineering projects for kindergarteners.
