what to do in summer?

So..what do people do? We are possibly sending our son to public pk in the fall, but are stumped about summers?
We both work full time.....Yikes, how do people this work?

My son is in school but during the summer months while school is out, will be attending summer camp at WIS. There are a ton of summer camps in DC. Most of them are in weekly sessions and some have 3 week chunks.

Our DCPS offers a phenomenal summer program... However, we let DD#1 decide if she wanted to go there, or back to her old daycare's summer camp program. Since this is the last year we'll be at that daycare (DD#2 will head to Pre-K at the end of this summer), we wanted DD#1 to have one last summer with all her old friends/teachers. NEXT summer, we'll be at our DCPS summer program....
