lmao in what universe

That is a mather-farking lie.

How blind and dumb do they think we are, precisely?

If he didn’t have close contact at the Rose Garden event, I think that means he knew it was going around and got out of there after he spoke. Any photos of him hob-nobbing with known positives?

That would be my guess. I notice that none of his staff got COVID either. He might be the smartest Republican in government, which isn't really saying much, but still.

But - Steven Miller also was negative for the past 5 days and positive today ....

They need to keep the plexiglass.

I do. There’s no positive for none of Trump’s staff or Trump being on the campaign trail. In the past 24 hours Biden’s done town halls and speeches in Pennsylvania and Florida.

Also - protect Kamala.

The two sides have campaigned in part on different approaches to the pandemic. A plexiglass divider is a concession that the disease is more dangerous and infectious than the Trump-Pence campaign wants to admit. It also has Pence start from a weaker position in the debate, essentially an acknowledgement that the Biden-Harris more careful approach was right.

It's all political posturing unfortunately.

There's a picture of him basically surrounded by COVID+ people at the Rose Garden event. He's in the front row, so I don't know if they're arguing that he never turned his head sideways or back.

Katie Miller had Covid earlier this year, so not "smart" exactly. He had some of the first Administration staff to get Covid!

Good thing we asked!! They sent positive Miller’s wife with the VP for the debate. She’s been forced to leave.

Here's the picture of Pence, unmasked, surrounded by positive cases:

I can't find the article, but it sounds like the Election Commission is allowing Pence to be without plexiglass on his side, but Harris and the moderator both can (will?) have plexiglass shields between themselves and Pence.

I'm not sure that is the look Pence was going for, but it certainly will underscore how capricious the GOP team has been with this virus.

Haha good. Jaime Harrison made Lindsey Graham look like a fool with the same tactic.

The optics of protecting yourself against this crazy administration cannot be overstated.

I think Harris is smart. Let Pence’s staff argue for no plexiglass. ThAt “show of strength” only works for the base.

I think it's more likely they all got COVID at the indoor event, so I'm guessing Pence ducked out of that. And yes, he did have some sick staffers earlier in the year, but this time around we haven't heard of any. Maybe they are just hiding it because of the debate or maybe his staff is quietly following the rules when nobody is watching.

As are the optics of life not being willing to protect other. The lines basically write themselves - Pence knows he’s been exposed to coronavirus, and that he could be carrying it right now despite his recent negative test results. Rather than be concerned about the lives and safety of those around him and agree to a simple precaution, though, he defiantly refuses to follow the safety recommendations we hear over and over again from experts in infectious diseases. So instead, the moderator and I have to stand behind plexiglass to protect ourselves from the Trump administration, because they don’t care about anyone but themselves.
