I think after the first night, he decided he wasn't into her physically and then used the laws as an excuse not to be alone with her again.

Agree. When he didn't want to kiss her at the hotel I thought that was cold.

What kills me about this is that she has options at home (i.e. whoever she cheated on Aznan with) but drags herself and her daughter across the ocean to be treated poorly by a man. Her poor parents.

No, Nicole doesn't have many options at home for a real relationship. A hookup? Sure. There are not a lot of men scrambling to marry an oversized, overgrown, uneducated baby mama who is physically abusive.
