Nicknames/short names that don't make sense

Sadie for Sarah makes zero sense to me

Then all those when they are a third, fourth, etc. Like Trey and Tripp for "the third", Qunii for "the fourth" just dumb to me. I get why but think it is dumb.

I have a friend who is Victoria but has always gone by Tori and it seems logical to me but surprises a lot of people.

I have the same thing. My old teammate is Victoria and goes by Tori and my coach could never understand it
