would you pay for college for a 30 year old?

I'm almost 8 years out and they have not paid a penny. They just paid off the loans for my younger step-sibling who has a record (and I'm not talking about education).

This is easy. Your parents are not paying because they know you can pay for it yourself. Basically, they probably think you can make it on your own and the other won't,not without their help. It's not fair by any means, I wouldn't do this to my children.

Yes, if my 30 year old child had grown up and was sincere about going to college and working to the best of their ability, without question I would pay for their college.

They never stop being our children !!!

If I applied this same logic to my three year old she would think that throwing tantrums, hitting, and being a brat all work in her favor.
So why is this okay when the "child" is thirty?

PP- that wasn't an attack on you just a sort of hypothetical.

depends. Before having children I would have said NO. now that I have a son with ADHD and I know how much longer it takes for him to complete things successfully, I would if I knew he was serious. no doubt about it.

I have helped both DCs pay for college but would not do so in the situation you describe
