| The point is all offices work differently because of union agreements etc. You need specific guidance from your office. I thought I was following OPM during the hurricane but was told that was not accurate for my office. I basically broke the rules by working since it was no authorized in advance. Not that anyone minded..but I certainly don't feel compelled to be 100% till noon. It will definitely be recorded as admin time. After three I will be recorded as teleworking. |
Precisely |
| After three I will be recorded as teleworking...that should be after "noon" I will be recorded as teleworking. |

Federal workers get to work just in time for lunch!

Most roads are so fine. My neighborhood road had one slick spot
Lame. |
How is that different then any other day |
You are a piece of work. Are you COMPLAINING that the tax payers pay you to work at home, so poor you have to work if the feds close??? For you to condemn the feds for worry about the rest of us who are not so lucky as you but actually do have to drive on ice or whatever.... you are a horrible selfish person. |
I agree. The first poster is incredibly annoying given that he/she never has to worry about weather conditions and commuting. |
Why do people choose to have ridiculously long commutes and then think they can use that as an excuse for everything? If you lived 5 miles from work instead of 50, things like "Carmageddon" wouldn't happen. I left work normal time that day and instead of the usual 15 minutes, it took 40, not 8 hours like people love to complain about. |
Because they want at least a 5,000 sq ft new construction house and can see their kids from 7:15 - 8:30 pm each day before the kids go to bed. |
All of the side roads I was on are very slick in MoCo. It took a good 5-10 minutes to melt the ice off of my car and it was still sleeting. |
I'm in MoCo and there was a little bit of rain. Agree with PP that this thread exemplifies everything wrong with the government. |
Not everyone can afford to live close to work, and not everyone who buys a house further out lives in a 5,000 sq foot home. When we bought our house, DH worked in Northern VA and I worked in Maryland so no matter where we lived, one of us would have a long commute. |
Well, ultimately it's still a choice people make. They should not expect their employers to give extra leave w/pay just because their commute is unbearable in bad weather. |
What a ridicules post! Oh ok, I will uproot my family and find housing close to my job so I don't have to complain about my commute. What happens when you leave that job and now have a big commute elsewhere? Move again? Good for you, but not everyone can be special like you. |
