Do you feel that FCPS has your child’s best interests at heart?

The sad part is a lot of teachers are giving up and feeling down....they can't teach while Gatehouse does their show to keep their cushy jobs. Their show makes more work and roadblocks for teachers to actually teach.

The boy told her he can do whatever he wants and principal won’t care because he has a lawyer. This is the same boy who called my son a horrible racist name and even though he recorded it the vice principal said that he needed to develop a thicker skin before high school or he would “never survive.” Same vice principal was overheard saying she was sick of all the “crocodile tears of entitled rich immigrant parents”. So no FCPS does not care and we are switching to Catholic School next year.

I hope that girls parents do something and something big. That is sexual assault.

Stacy Kirkpatrick takes no action to remedy hostile environment at Chesterbrook ES. Gun threats: dismissed, swept under the rug. No email went out to parents regarding a recent gun threat, though she has sent two "racist slur" emails to the entire school community since then. She'll virtue signal, but she won't prioritize your child's safety. She is career-first, children last.

She was "student liason" for the young student that was raped at Rachel Carson MS, who had to leave school because her needs weren't met following protracted conversations involving Kirkpatrick. FCPS is countersuing victim.

Herndon HS student killed after no administrative action following requests for help. The injustice. Someone's child was killed because an administrator put her career first.

FCPS is bad these days. Like the former Gatehouse employee said everyone is trying to move up the ladder. FCPS does not put kids or their learning first.

If it’s Carson and this sounds like it, admin will bury it. Their VP and principal routinely bury discipline issues, racism, and violence. Our son has had 3 guidance counselors in a single year, and has reported horrific racist language and gay slurs used towards him (including recording it) and crickets. Principal insinuated this is the cost of being openly gay in middle school. We can’t go catholic school route for obvious reasons, but are hoping Chantilly is better.

Administrators exist to set and maintain standards. FCPS administrator apathy is disgusting.

Fairfax County Public Schools pays its teachers a starting annual salary of $61,747 as it gives 44 of its district administrators over $200,000 per year. Meanwhile, student performance is abysmal, + teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies.

Separating FCPS as a whole from individual teachers and then asking if they care about students is a ridiculous and loaded question. Clearly OP has an intended answer.

In my experience, the majority of teachers care about their students, but as a whole, FCPS has to follow guidelines that were enacted by elected officials. Blame your school board. Blame your governor! Blame your department Ed chair. But stop blaming the teachers who are following protocol. They can’t just do whatever they want to do! People act like you can just ignore the rules and follow your heart. You can’t do that.

We trust individual teachers.
