Do any of you make a point to avoid politics at Thanksgiving dinner? I’m really hoping for a peaceful holiday this year.

Oh everyone knows that. You people are so fragile you break apart the first time someone disagrees with your idiocy.

Republicans and maga are a direct result of youth participation trophies.

Not Thanksgiving .. but with family.. One time all I did was mention that I watched the January 6th hearings on cspan.

That was all it took to start.

It was because someone asked me what I had done that day. I said I did laundry while watching tv. They asked what I watched. I guess I should have lied.

If you’ve dealt with mixed political views in the family, how do you keep things respectful and drama-free during the holidays?

Uninvite your brother.

I see people as more than their political leanings and this world has enough hate in it already. I’m not going to add to it.

You do you but I refuse to embrace family members who vote for someone like Trump. It’s like turning a blind eye to people in the South who threw rocks at Black children integrating schools or Black people sitting at Whites Only lunch counters. Nope

DP.

Ironically, this means that you would exclude from your table my BIPOC FIL who was not allowed to attend integrated schools until high school. He voted for Trump.

Seems your lunch counter is exclusionary.

np No trump supporters allowed in my house. I would include your FIL of course
