You can get half of what he saved during your marriage. Not before the marriage. And, he gets half of what you saved.

Sold:1.42M
He made: $1.36
DP:$110K

So in theory your 50% is 225k. His opening offer of 200k is not far off.

You are assuming that downpayment was a marital money. If downpayment came out from husband's separate pre-marital account, then 550-110=440, and wife will get 220, husband will get 330. But we also didnt account for the cost of mortgage payoff and the sale expenses.

He will likely get back what he put into it. You mentioned you paid for renovations, you should be able to get that amount. Then what is leftover in profit can be split.

So he paid off the house, he immediately gets his 860k back. If you put say 100k in renovations in, you get that. Take out realty fees and closing costs from the 1.4M. You’re probably looking at around 250k.

That is not how the law in Virginia work.

Are you sure you wouldn’t ever want a Friday-Sunday? Weekends with kids are soooo much more fun than week days.

Yeah maybe get it every other weekend

Haha. I probably know your attorney in Fairfax. The local bar is desperate/eager as no one is getting divorced in Fairfax /DMV right now!

I’m not hating, but it’s clear that she is in this pickle due to her bad choices. Why did she first even engage with this man if he was never a good person? Water seeks its own level.

It sure does. Va is not a 50/50 state.

If you prove that the post-nup is fake/forged, he can get in a lot of trouble for being a fraud and that will help you get more in equitable division. Seems like a conniving bastard!!
