John Roberts and the GOP members of the Supreme Court destroyed American democracy when they ruled that Dump was above the law.

We never had a real democracy to begin with.

What a dumb comment! What were we then?

What we have always been a constitutional republic.

No shit! And what does that mean?

If you don’t understand what form of government the US has then you probably shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

That is what the Ds (and some Rs) have been trying to do for years.

But Trump ordered the red states to break norms and redistrict now, blatantly trying to gerrymander, so he can try to maintain control of the House.

Blue states will try to counter but it probably won't be enough.

Republicans will lie, cheat, and steal to win elections.

It’s crazy that the GOP/MAGA spend so much time lying, cheating and stealing that sounds like more work than just coming up with decent plans to help Americans thrive. They have such a scarcity mindset when they could understand that a rising tide lifts all boats.

Hardly dumb. We’re an oligarchy disguised as a constitutional republic.

I understand it perfectly and have already described it for you. But I can see that you can't do the same. Perhaps you should not be allowed to vote.

+1. Republicans played dirty with their gerrymandering in Texas but Democrats aren’t going to let them take our democracy down without a fight…

Republicans are beholden to just a few billionaires to finance their campaigns. That’s their constituency and that’s why their top priority in the Big Beautiful Bill was tax cuts for billionaires.

The thing about gerrymandering is that it thins the margins in a lot more districts. That reliably red or blue district is now a little more purple. So what was a comfortable 20 point margin is now a 10 point margin. And that can bite back in a wave election.

A ruling party's losses can be magnified by their gerrymandering in a wave election. And everything is shaping up for a massive Blue Wave election next November. So in some ways, Republicans are putting more seats in play with their gerrymandering.

In any event, this is a stupid system. No other nation allows politicians to choose their voters.

If the shift from last night happens in Texas, then the result won't be what tTump and MAGA expected.

This is fantastic. Andy Harris is just the worst. Will be so happy to see him booted from the MD congressional delegation.

Too bad the Rs more likely to be redistricted out are Wittman and Kiggans. They aren't too bad all things considered.

I'd like to see Griffith and Kline go first.
