Agree. Usually people only get tattoos because they have insecurity issues and self esteem issues. Unless one is in a motorcycle gang or organized crime syndicate, then tattoos are a sign of lifetime commitment. |
My college kid got two after she was 18. They are hidden by clothing. I’ve discouraged a third by suggesting she doesn’t need 3 reminders of who she was at age 18 to 22. I’ve suggested she wait until she’s 30 to consider another. So far she is waiting |
Tell me where I was wrong. Her “fashion” pieces are like Hunter’s paintings now. |
Uh, yes? I have great relationships with my young adult kids. So sorry you don’t understand that. |
Sure you do. How do you know they don’t have one already? |

OH this people who have the most random things tattooed all over the place just so randomly, it's so incredibly strange, no planning just like "I think I'll get a cake tattoo today" and a month later: "I think I should get a turtle tattoo. Poor decisions make quickly I guess no other explanation really. |
Truthfully? They are competitive swimmers for fun and I sometimes see their events. If they had tattoos, there is a very limited amount that isn’t visible. Those racing suits are tiny. I wish they were less tiny but not my choice! But also you are so weird not to understand healthy and strong relationships with young adults. Like, normal folks can just talk, you know? That’s a thing you can do with adult children. |
Tattoos are the most, “look at me, LOOK at me, LOOK AT ME” coping mechanism on the planet. They’re the primary symptom of insecurity. |
Most rock stars, Beckham, Angelina Jolie… If you are good looking and successful, you can def pull them off, even as you age. That said, I would never get one and will strongly discourage my DCs from getting one. |
