Oh boy. You don't even know that your money is long gone. It was already paid out to past generation and into the government coffers. Their is nothing to steal. It is already gone. The only way to get payments is if you recruit new suckers(I mean taxpayers).

There is social security disability fraud. We all know this, but my suspicion is that red states are the biggest beneficiaries of this fraud. It’s well known that poor whites in rural areas where there’s no jobs rely heavily on disability payments.

Musk and his findings: it’s bizarre how many people are willing to take his word as gospel on what he’s found. He has not presented any facts or numbers which show us where he’s finding fraud or how much.

NP. The problem with responses like yours is that by going all the way to the extreme of suggesting that any fraud allegations are complete lies, you leave yourself open to be backhanded with the reams of evidence of fraud. You then look like a moron who is trying to cover up fraud.

There is indeed fraud. What we need to point out is that processes and procedures already exist to document and address fraud and waste in government spending. What Elon Musk is doing by reinventing the wheel is wasting government resources, driving costs even higher, and it's all a pretext to seize power for himself.

Dp here. Yes, this has been pointed out many times in this thread. It is not getting through to maga. Which is exactly why pp made that statement. They are completely ignoring calls for actual investigations. They are ignoring the fact that we already have people who do this. They are just blindly cheering Elon on as he burns the whole thing to the ground without giving us any evidence of fraud or waste.

My husband has worked for the gov for almost 30 years. He would love for someone to walk in and ask him where they should trim the fat. He has thoughts on that. But the firing of his co-worker who has been with the agency for years…simply because he recently got a promotion and is considered new? Firing the promising intern who is barely getting paid? This is not trimming the fat. This is making every agency and department less efficient and effective. But I guess that’s the point…

I voted for Kamala and I think what Musk is doing is illegal, traitorous, evil, etc etc. But we also have to have a serious talk about the future of social security and Medicare in this country. As it is it is simply not sustainable. When it was conceived people didn't live 30 years in retirement. We have a dwindling population and trillions in debt. I don't want to saddle my children with government debt we have to print our way out of.

I'm 38 and never assumed I would be able to collect social security when the time comes and I think millennials and younger gen x need to make peace with this.
