It's you resigning but agreeing to work until September and make your regular salary, except without going to the office. You can leave earlier than September, but not later. That's it. It's just for people who really hate going to the office and have an empty office available to go to.

I’m reviewing the language and it says that your department might take certain actions including placing you on admin leave (as well as reassigning your duties, etc) so it seems like you’ll be an employee for 8 months but not working.

Problem is Trump already promised to and started to weaponize the government (and his para-government goons) against anybody who isn't an extreme loyalist. So why should you trust anything he says about what he'll give you for admitting you aren't on his team?

First Mismanager Musk, who is behind a lot of this nonsense, already tried to avoid paying severance to people he fired from Twitter, and got sued for it..

Interesting, this memo asks agencies to track how many people seek to rescind or extend their resignation, without saying whether that's possible, with the earlier memo implying it wasn't.

I still don't think they can use admin leave to pay people not to work for months. Otherwise you could just hire political cronies and put them on "admin leave" indefinitely. This is going to be overturned.

No that is not what it says. You will be placed on admin leave until the end of September.
