Your post is ironic...very unlike Jimmy Carter.

Nonsense. Carter had plenty of words for Trump, none of the complimentary.

He did not gratuitously interject ugly remarks about Trump into his words and comments.

Why wouldn’t she?

DP— she broke her hip overseas recently. Having had a hip replacement at a much younger age than her, that’s a tough recovery. But she’s a tough person. So, Od say up in the air.

Hip replacement is a fast recovery
Knee replacement takes much longer to recover.

Can we just speak to the good man Carter was without injecting your hate for Trump?
Geez!

Nope!

Congress is counting electoral votes 1/6, and this has been declared a national security event. Prior to Carter passing, they were already pulling in multiple national guard units, extending the perimeter, tightening who is allowed in, etc. zero chance they allow thousands of members of the public troop through the rotunda during a joint session of Congress, with Harris present, especially after 2020. I think they pushed the funeral to 1/9 so he could lay in state 1/7 and 1/8.

I’ve had moth an anterior and a posterior replacement. The newer method that doesn’t cut muscles is definitely a much easier recovery. But if you break a hip and you are over 80? Falls that break hips actually put people that age at significant risk for death. 27% mortality rate in people over age 65 who break their hips. She’s getting great medical care, but it’s still a serious health issue. Especially since she is so thin and has the reputation for eating very little— which is an osteoporosis risk.

Hopefully the President-elect keeps silent for once.

Personally, I am thankful he passed while Biden is still president and excluding Trump from speaking!

Good point!

"We are a community of 240 million human beings among the more than 4 billion who inhabit the planet Earth. We human beings are still divided into nation-states, but these states are rapidly becoming a global civilization. We cast this message into the cosmos, carrying with it the hopes and dreams of humanity.

This Voyager spacecraft was constructed by the United States of America. It embodies our highest aspirations and our deepest hopes. We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination, and our goodwill in a vast and awesome universe.

If one such civilization intercepts Voyager and can understand these recorded contents, here is our message:

This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts, and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours."

Incredible! Much respect. His daughter spoke after his passing. Very touching. I was young when he was elected, but I loved him. I felt awful for the terrible things said about Amy. When she spoke about him today, she said something like, just when she didn’t think she could love him any more, she would fall more in love with him. Made me cry.

And flags at half-staff for 30 days.

So during the inauguration wake.

Kind of love this. Jimmy had to be a bit mischievous from time to time, right?

My favorite Carter quote, extremely relevant to what's going on the middle east:

"The word 'apartheid' is exactly accurate…they are absolutely & totally separated…the Israelis completely dominate the life of the Palestinian people."

"There are powerful political forces in America that prevent any objective analysis…"

The two oldest living presidents are the current one and the president-elect.

Sad he didn't live to see his dream of Israel destroyed.

That was not his dream or wish at all.

Carter said that electing Trump would be a disaster.

Jimmy Carter says reelection of Trump would be a ‘disaster’

I love that this thread is about death of Carter, but 50 percent of posts are about Trump.
