Yes except it’s 4 months since MCPS changed teachers at the semester. I find the traditional format stressful but I appreciate it. Seeing how far my child has to walk between classes is helpful when they tell me that they struggle to get there on time (as I did!). I like seeing the teachers even for just a few minutes to get a sense of them, and I appreciate each teacher explaining how they expect assignments to be turned in, since they are all different.

But for my freshman, all of her teachers but 1 change 2nd semester and she has another new class. So it's stupid to do only one back to school night.

So why not have each teacher upload a syllabus, their rules, grading, teaching style and a little video about the class, etc... Then you can watch that from the comfort of your own home in your pajamas and the teachers don't have to work terrible hours

That's not normal in less she switched an elective or something. A lot of teachers do upload the syllabus or send a copy home. Look in your student's portal.

It’s totally normal to have different teachers in semester two in high school

I really hate when the school isn't transparent about what time the substantive activities start at back to school night. Like when you have to leave work early, rush to get to school by 5:30 or 6, and then are left to check out PTA table for an hour with actual programming later. Our high school gives a long break in between principal announcements and going class to class but when I called to ask for the schedule I was told they aren't allowed to give it to me until we arrive this evening.

We had a switch only because they added a section and my child got moved to the new section. This year no changes.
