Food and Grocery companies are not price gouging and aren't getting rich, the cost of these things have gone up. The only real price gouging is contractors doing work on houses of that is because of govt regulations subsidizing home repairs and renovations for energy savings. So it's short sighted to go after grocery stores when its deeper than that. |
In other words, supply chain disruptions can happen for a variety of reasons. Typically, an "anti-gouging" policy aims to target only the most egregious price increases. It doesn't have much of an impact on the market, since it targets outlier prices, not market rate prices. |
Sure, go for it. I’m not angry and I’m not a Republican, but you sound awful angry. |
Here's the thing. I don't care anything about this, but when people are constantly complaining about prices and inflation, and then she tries to propose a solution, it's heresy.
What do you want from her exactly? Trump hasn't said 2 words beyond, prices are up. Ok. |
You could push for all schools to grow crops. Those crops can be used for lunches and sent home for kids that need them.

Who has received payouts in the last two years? |
He’s talked repeatedly about fixing gas pipelines and bringing the US back to a place of energy independence and then energy dominance. Decreasing gas prices will naturally decrease the cost of goods across the board. |
There won’t be more supply. But there will be less demand, and less “free” money to spend on it. |
But this is all based on a lie, like everything else he says. The US is already energy independent. He wants to open national parks for drilling, which will only hurt the environment and help oil companies when we should be focusing on clean energy. It’s such bunk. |
Wrong dimwit. The whole runoff was surrounded by Dems promising that if they gave the Dems control of the senate, Biden would sign stimi checks. It was a cash bribery to voters to try to sway the election. Lo and behold Biden signs the stimi checks and dropped another trillion+ dollars of unneeded stimi into the economy in 2021. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/georgia-senate-runoff-election-results/index.html
Thank you for the inflation Dems. Your insane money printing and free cash handouts are what led to it, not wide spread conspiracy theories for price gouging. It’s really amazing how short term of a memory Dems have. |
Address what? The free market economy? Maybe she should address the trillions of dollars she and Biden printed that stoked inflation. |
Because it will make the economy worse, not better. It will seem better for a couple years, but then small companies will go out of business because of profit losses, mid size companies will be bought up by big businesses, then eventually someone will end the price ban and suddenly you have huge monopolies and few little companies left. Then you have no control over prices and majority of the goods you want are sold by one company. Before long you’ll look like this. |
This. Or the incredible overspending done by the government. |
We import more oil than we export, so we’re not energy independent. |
The food and grocery industry have been making huge profits. They started jacking prices up during the pandemic, initially due to supply chain issues, but as the supply chain issues were resolved, they continued jacking up prices and increasing their profit margins. They very much are gouging. https://qz.com/supermarket-prices-grocery-food-inflation-pandemic-1851369826 |
