Davidson has a low admit rate because it is a great school that is small. Don't need many applications when you aren't taking many students.

Some here don't like public schools. So be it.

This doesn't list W&M's awful 20% yield rate, which means its a back up state school for UVA kids. The actual incoming students are the lower end of the pack who couldn't get into anywhere better.

It's so funny imagining you just sitting at the computer foaming at the mouth right now. We get it, the only way you can feel good about yourself is to put other stuff down. Maybe if your marriage was better, your kids liked you, you had a good social life you wouldn't feel the need to compensate!

"Foaming at the mouth." I'm glad you have creativity backing you, because the lying is very unnecessary. W&M factually has a very low yield; you can lie about it or not, but I'm just pointing out things that people should be taking notes on. Students clearly disagree that it's a number 1 destination.

They are similar schools in a number of ways. They are located an hour apart. Weather will be similar. They are both undergraduate-focused residential schools with lovely, walkable campuses. They both have liberal arts and sciences with business schools (no engineering). They have a long history of competing in sports, although that has been diminishing with conference realignments.

The differences of course are that Richmond is private and William and Mary is public. WM will draw much more from Virginia. I suspect there are relatively few students at Richmond from Virginia due to the presence of UVA and WM. Richmond will probably have a higher percentage of top 1-2% in income, while WM will probably be more upper middle class. Richmond is in the suburbs, but there is less you can walk to directly off campus compared to WM, which is more integrated into Williamsburg.

Richmond's yield is 23%, W&M's is 28%, point moot.

When one assertion gets refuted, they have to find another one to move to. And they don't seem to have a good grasp of statistics. Or they prefer to make up stuff. Yield was 28% btw. And gosh...adding in those spring admits would probably make it almost 50%! (for those who have been playing along.)

Even back in the 1980s it was below 35%. Idk why people get on here and lie.

That is what people do now. As a point in (alternative) fact, my presidential inauguration was better attended than any presidential inauguration in history.

Not sure the connection, so I'm going to have to assume it was a freudian slip.

When 27% of your students are athletes it's easy to skew the yield rate.

You seem very troubled. It is concerning that you are assuming, and kind of wishing for, someone else to have a bad household. Disgusting behavior even if I agree with your early points. People here need to learn to be respectful.

You mean yourself, because you refuse to just put the number down and admit the rate is higher, then brought an outside excuse when you realized you were wrong. Cognitive Dissonance is a mental health issue. You should find treatment.

my goal isn’t to pile on against Richmond, BUT - they also have a higher ED students as part of admitted class, which inflates their already poor yield
