Then you don't understand anything. The money in aid goes from the US treasury to US defense contractors to build more arms that go into the US depot. The current arms in the US depot that are set to expire for non-use, will be sent to Ukraine for the Ukrainians to use against the Russians. There is no "money transfer" that you infer, that happens where Putin would get a cut. |
We get relative global peace so people can travel the world and experience different cultures, we get stability that creates a leisure class to probe the arts and sciences and we get global markets that benefit US companies and workers. |
I don’t know if you’re joking or serious . Military aid is only a sector of foreign aid. There’s also humanitarian aid. Arms are also currency in the same way drugs are. Better than cash and can be sold to anybody wanting arms like Palestinians for example. Zelensky and Putin are not enemies . I stand by this |
Global peace, what planet are you on ? We are on a fight on European and Middle Eastern land right now. We are fighting Iranians, Russians, and Chinese. This president is dangerous and has us closer to WW3 than anybody ever before. He does not know how to negotiate or maneuver. Time for him to retire. It’s elder abuse to elect him President |
Progaganda bot or insane poster? We’ll never know. |
Hamas has connections to many other terrorist organizations who hate the US (and they hate us, too) and we’re not big fans of Islamic terrorists. Ukraine needs to be more transparent with their $ and also we’re bored of them. |
Why are we giving money to Israel and Taiwan. Both countries have plenty of money. |
This is absolutely delusional. NATO and the US does not do trench warfare. Or artillery duels that last for years. The West does air power. There is nothing in the Russian arsenal that can stop F-22s, F-35s, B-1s and B-2s. Not to mention cruise missiles. And once air defense is taken care of, it's carnage time. Everything from old timey B-52s, which can level a city in a minute, to Apaches, which can provide close air support. It literally would take NATO and the US two weeks to obliterate what remains of Russian forces. The problem is that Ukraine does not have those weapons. It's a horrible war. It's WWI with drones. The vast majority of casualties are due to artillery, which would never happen in any NATO engagement. Ukraine needs ammo, which Republicans are denying them. All NATO countries were unprepared for a war where 20,000 shells are fired each and every day. It's not how NATO fights. So it's definitely a strain. But Ukraine is in trouble now because of the the ammo shortage. Europe has finally ramped up production to 24/7. But in the meantime, only the US has the resources to sustain Ukraine. And if Russia does take Ukraine, it will be the Baltics next. NATO countries. Russia is an imperial country. They will go there. NATO would deal with that pretty quickly, but it's best to avoid direct confrontation with a nuclear adversary. Supporting Ukraine - giving them the ammo - is the only way to keep the US and NATO out of a much, much more serious engagement. Profoundly disappointed with the idiocy of Mike Johnson and Republicans. |
Speak for yourself. I admire and respect Ukraine’s gutsy and continued defense of its freedom and separate national cultural identity from Russia. Putin (and Iran) cultivated, trained and Hamas over 17 years. The Hamas terrorists brandished Russian weapons. Putin and Iran both fostering mayhem in ME for their own political agendas (Putin to distract from his illegal and brutal land grab in Ukraine that he is spinning as a Holy War). Trump has recently stated at one of his cult like rallies that he will let Putin do whatever it wants with NATO countries. We have been downgraded three times as a democracy since Trump’s reign of chaos began in 2016 (Trump encouraging Russian interference in 2016 election, violent insurrection in 2020 to prevent peaceful transfer of elected government and ongoing voter restrictions based on ongoing lies that Trump did not lose fair and square) . We are now rated as a partial democracy by international observers and Trump continues to campaign on authoritarian white Christian nationalism and contrived culture war issues. This places us at heightened risk for civil unrest/ civil war. You may not be worried about ending up as an authoritarian banana republic like Russia with no political or democratic freedoms but many of us are extremely concerned. |
Why not take the money out of the spending on illegal aliens, and EV subsidies? |
Another 100 billion.
Add to this years 2 trillion debt. Are these people children ? |
So much of our voters do not understand this! Who will educate them? Asking sincerely. |
Wrong. Evangelistic Christians though declining still have a large influence on republican politicians. Israel is one of their top issues for some reason. The Jewish vote is irrelevant because it is so small and in noncontested states. The republicans and conservatives hate Ukrainians because they did not manufacture fake propaganda on Hunter. Now the argument used against the Ukraine funding(corruption, too much money, Ukraine is not a real country, etc) have started to be applied to Israel. I do not think Israel’s funding is as safe as people think. |
Do you have any, you know, proof? |
