Do you think Kate Middleton is genuine

I thonk she seems most genuine when she's interacting with children. Her smile is real.

I’m interested in what changes will happen as we get further from the queens reign. Kate has already made wardrobe/appearance changes, but I’m sure there’s more to come.

I have family in Scotland and they’ve said their community isn’t feeling the love from William and Kate like they did from Elizabeth and Charles. William and Kate don’t spend time at Balmoral and they skipped the Highland Games. William also has never worn a kilt (as an adult) and they don’t like that. Obviously there’s only so many hours in a day and they can’t be everything to everyone. I’m just an American who enjoys the pageantry from a distance!

Lol! That is the pettiest complaint I have ever heard!

It’s a cultural thing, that’s all. To them, it’s just showing he isn’t connected to their community. Last time I was there for a wedding, all the Scottish men wore kilts. Nobody minded that my American husband didn’t, but he’s not their future king.

The queen has that advice about never holding hands in public because the first time you show up not holding hands, it will be front page news (or something lke that). She survived for so many decades by understanding that it’s better to he perceived as too aloof than to have the press think your emotional and and personal life are up for discussion. I don’t know that I would want to hang out with Kate but I think she totally understands the role of the modern British monarch. Both diana and Megan seriously misjudged the role.

Did they "misjudge" the roles, or were they mercilessly attacked by the press and undermined by the Firm--including in Diana's case, her own husband?

Diana misjudged the role. She thought her husband should be faithful, and she got all upset when he wasn’t. What King of England has ever been faithful? Maybe the one that died at age 15. If you’re made of stone like QE2 or KM, the press can tear into you but they will eventually lose interest because there’s not much there to play with. Diana was too interesting. But that’s not really the job.

If Scottish independence is not too far off why did the Scottish Independence Party lose the bi-election last week to the Labour Party? Time Magazine has major egg on its face for naming SNP head, Humza Yousaf, a "generational trailblazer" and featuring his photo on the cover.

Diana misjudged what she could get away with by having an affair with Barry Manakee before Charles had an affair with Camilla.

+1
I think if she didn't make a life long commitment in front of the whole world and have being queen within her sight, she'd be divorced. She seems like a classic mean girl married to a pretentious bully. She's well suited in her position.

Did you drink the lime or cherry flavored Kool Aid my little Sugar.

What does that even mean? GMAFB.

It means that the poster didn't move in the same circles as Catherine and William at St. Andrews.

She will never be allowed to have a bad day at work, which is what her public life is. She must be happy, smiling, and on top of her game every single second. For me, that will take a lot of performance.

I think Catherine looks most genuine when she is engaged in sport. When she played the tennis set with Roger Federer, she really looked into it. Same with her repelling down the mountain side or playing an impromptu game of cricket. She has to let the facade down and concentrate on what she is doing.

Charles and Camilla had an emotional, if not physical, affair the entire time he was involved with Diana.

she's the opposite of a mean girl. my mother had hospice care from a nurse who was at school with her. she stood up for the underdog all the time, told off the mean girls who mocked another girl who had acne, befriended the girl with acne and kept her safe

This just sounds like a made up story. I bet MM could give you a ton of examples of Kate being a mean girl.

She actually was brutalized, bullied hard in school--kids made fun of her family for their new # and mother being a former stewardess. I think this is why she does pull for the underdog.

^before St Andrews.

Before Marlborough College where she did her A levels. She was bullied at Downe House and moved to Marlborough College.

I don't get the mean girl vibe from her at all, but I definitely think she has a public persona. She seems likeable enough though.

NP, but it's pretty well accepted that she decided to go after him.

To the contrary. She was dating someone else and was in William's friend circle. She was in a charity fashion show wearing a bikini was a see through cover up when William saw her famously said "she's hot." He had to go after her. It's interesting that in Harry's book, "Spare," he said he told his friends that Meghan was "hot." The two sound at least lusty.
