With a 2/3 vote |
Scalise is battling cancer. Why would he want to take on that added stress. |
1 far right racist is holding up over 300 nominations to US military leadership 8 far right extremists just ousted a House Speaker for the first time in US history This is not normal. |
Speaker McCarthy lasted 24.5 Scaramuccis. |
So does the house now go into nonstop voting for a new speaker until one is selected? No other business can get done right? |
Interested to see what happens now. Wonder who is on McCarthy's list?
"Since 2003, House rules have required the speaker to submit a list of names to the clerk of members to act in the case of his or her vacancy. According to Rule I, clause 8 of the House rules, the next person on that list “shall act as Speaker pro tempore until the election of a Speaker or a Speaker pro tempore.” So whoever is first on McCarthy's list will take over as speaker in an acting capacity." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/kevin-mccarthy-ousted-speaker-house-next-steps-rcna118561 |
Its all normal for GOPverse. They have rapist criminal as ex-president who is their presumptuous presidential nominee for 2024. |
McCarthy sat on a valid ethics issue. It can be unleashed by his allies now. |
We already know. The Speaker pro tempore is Patrick McHenry. |
This guy: |
I'm the one that postulated that McCarthy will retain the speakership on page 2. My thought is that the Democrats will no bail McCarthy without some major concessions. McCarthy should have been working on negotiating with the Democrats, but he didn't. So, the Democrats will vote him out. This does not mean that if he comes to them and offers them something, then they could support him for his return to the speakership. But they are not going to do so until he offers something very concrete and worthwhile to them. So, he better be prepared to offer something to them, otherwise they will not support him. He decided to play games and not reach out to Democrats before the call to vacate and decided not to start negotiating a deal. Gamble big, lose big. So he'll lose his speakership today. Doesn't mean he can't still be voted into the speakership again. So, it's time for him to reach out to the D's and start to negotiate what it will take to re-elect him speaker by offering them concessions. |
McCarthy publicly threw the dems under the bus on Sunday. He also allowed the bogus impeachment thing to start. Why on earth would the Dems trust him? |
Man you republicans really hate our country. Throwing the country into chaos because you vote in a bunch of toddlers throwing hissy fits. This right here is why you should join democrats in demanding fair maps for elections. Your hardliners were put into place by gerrymandered maps. |
Exactly. Fool me twice….. |
So what happens come November? |
