We also are staying home. We originally had scheduled groceries to be delivered today, so we lucked out. Will likely get Uber eats for lunch and dinner so that we don’t use the stove or grille. Kids are bummed that their sports activities were cancelled so just going to spoil them by letting them have movie nights.

These are the people who looove any excuse to hunker down at home. They truly thrive on it and are relieved when they have anything that looks like a legitimate reason to lean into it. Because it would be oh so dangerous for them to be outside for 5 seconds at a time to move from one indoor space to another. Nope! Better just stay home!

Enlighten me, why can't you use a stove? Is this the whole gas stove non sense? Because you allow it to pollute your home the other 364 days a year so is today that different as you sit indoors with windows shut, AC running and HEPA filters blasting I'm sure.

This air quality alert is bringing out the Covid crazies. They are thrilled to have something to freak out and scold everyone about again.

Cavalier statements like this aren’t going to age well. In the western states, where fires are more common, schools and sports organizations have policies about rescheduling recess, games, and practices at certain AQI thresholds. I used to live in Hong Kong 20 years ago, same story.

If/when fires start to affect the east coast more, expect your k-12 schools, youth sports organizations, and universities to follow suit.

Policies are reasonable. Hysteria is not.

Um, getting DoorDash doesn’t qualify as hysteria. Did you not buy bulk toilet paper in 2020 or go get bottled water the next time there was a hurricane warning after Ivan? Ordering takeout sushi is a far cry from looting in the streets
