But will not do or say anything to prevent their actual cronies in the press from saying the most vile things about Meghan.

Hmm. Interesting.

Can we put this lie to rest please? The palace didn’t complain about Kate getting Botox. They were upset that some med spa was using her as an advertisement. The palace let’s all kind of shit stories about William and Kate run, like that one that called Kate a plastic breeder, or the many articles talking about her social climbing, conniving family.

Harry and Megan are fully capable of defending themselves. They sue the hell out of any media that hints a whiff of untruth. And I must add that the article by Jeremy Clarkson wishing game of thrones type treatment on Megan is truly disgusting and an example of the many nasty articles periodically written about all the royals. Meghan is the first to complain about it and it makes it seem like she bears the brunt of the nastiness, but make no mistake all the royal women get their fair of shit flung at them.

Pray tell, can you tell me of an instance when any member of the Royal Family was told to parade through the streets of every town in Britain while people throw excrement at them?

The volume and scale of mistreatment faced by Meghan is unprecedented. It is OK to acknowledge that. It's also OK to acknowledge that, yes, the Royal Family will speak out against Kate getting Botox but will not lift a finger to protect Meghan.

Again stop with the debunked Botox story. The palace didn’t confirm or deny Kate does Botox. They simply asked the medals to stop using her name for advertising. The “palace” let fergie be bullied and fat shamed relentlessly by mainstream media who regularly called her the duchess of pork. Is that better or worse than the shitty clarkson article about Megan? I don’t know. I think they’re both awful and shouldn’t be tolerated. But for those of you have only started getting interested in the royals now that Meghan is part of the story, you may not have any recollection of how Camilla was abused for YEARS. Again, not saying it’s ok, but it does seem like the palace has a history of allowing shit stories to run about its women, and the media has a history of abusing anyone who marries into the royal family.

Meghan and Harry have a presenter, voice over role. They will have a script to present the episode and perhaps a comment or two but the series has long been finished before they came on board. They are not involved in the interviews.

Same way celebs put their name on products they didn't develop. Also thanks for the heads up on leaders everyone already knows about. What would be powerful would be leaders we haven't heard of. I mean RBG, Mandela, Thunberg. This reads like the list for the 5th grade project. How about people who haven't been profiled to death already?

This is exactly what I thought when I read this. Wouldn't their efforts be much better used to shine a light on people doing amazing work who AREN'T the usual suspects? How about an organization helping people who are trying to cross borders for a better life? Or an organization working with people in the poorest parts of the world become self-sufficient? Or, just to be crazy, address the homeless crisis in their adopted home state of California?

Yes- but that would require effort and time on Megan and Harry’s part. This program was bought by their production company already finished allowing them to be able to start putting out for the Netflix who was probably wondering when their 100 million investment in these two was going to pay off

Sad that the fuming hate-stalkers play so fast and loose with the truth.

To criticize doesn't mean we "hate" Just saying it like it is. We haven't all drunk the cool aid

Weird for you to associate yourself with the hate-stalkers. Perhaps you're not one, and that's totally fine. But there is a not-insignificant contingent of Meghan followers for whom "hate-stalker" is a completely fair description.

Also, quite ironic for you to reference kool-aid when no doubt your opinions of this woman are informed heavily from reading biased headlines and a controlled media narrative.

How on earth are we supposed to form opinions if we don't know the people? You do it too

So many people on here that are so angry at this couple! Makes me want to check it out. Ha! They certainly know how to grab people’s interest, that’s for sure.

Wow the Royal Family… is really just telling on itself. What a disaster for their side the last couple of weeks. Even The Crown scriptwriters couldn’t have written this. Comically bad timing and (non)behaviors on all ends.

“Debunked” Botox story? They literally put out a statement denying the claims that she got Botox. Nothing to “debunk” there, it’s in writing.

Well by doing this documentary, they are exploring and empowering the identity and ideal of leadership through the lens of change makers and ceiling breakers and delving into how their lived experience can forge new paths for the next generation.

Or some crap like that.

NP.

Pulled the below from another forum, but thought it was quite telling…

I wish people would stop claiming the RF "never explain, never complain", because its complete bollocks.

They have released official statements condemning the press.
The Senior RF have all sued tabloid newspapers at one time or another.
The Queen sued both The Sun and The Mirror. Twice!

Off the top of my head:
▪︎ Sophie (when she wasn't a working royal) got caught in a fake Sheikh scandal.
Buck Palace released an official statement saying the story was riddled with inaccuracies and fictions. And was offensive.

▪︎ When Kate was Williams girlfriend. Kensington Palace released an official statement condemning the press harassment and it needs to stop. The intrusion was unbearable.

▪︎ A few years ago Kensington Palace, on behalf of W &K, issued a statement to the press condeming the dangerous tactics paparazzi have been using to take pictures of thier children. They want thir children to be free of harrasment and surveillance
(btw, the statement lists some examples of disturbing tactics the paps have used just to get a photo of the children)

I don't have any problem with the palaces making official statements to respond to the vitriol the RF have endured from the press.
And I don't have a problem with suing the tabloid press
In fact I applaud them for it.

But let's not pretend they keep silent. They don't.

When they were working royals the palace gave the sussexes a whole communications team. What did those people do? Why didn’t they respond to the press attacks?

It was revealed that their press person was behind several of the leaks/negative stories, I believe (Jason Knauf). That’s part of why they broke away.

By far the most cogent and coherent take on this whole thing. I agree with this piece completely: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/dec/19/violent-misogynic-fantasies-meghan-jeremy-clarkson-sun

That’s a good question. Perhaps Google could answer it for you. You might also look at Harry’s statement to the press prior to their marriage, law suits filed after their marriage, and comments about how they were advised to keep silent and carry on in the face of the noxious attacks.

Camilla’s son works for the Mail on Sunday. Camilla and Charles’s chief of communications used to be an executive at the Daily Mail. Gosh! It looks like the King and his wife are more aligned with the noxious tabloids than they are with the Sussexes. I wonder if these alignments have anything to do with what the palace controlled and funded communications team did and didn’t do? Ya think?

Speaking out about abuse is not complaining.

And in any case, the name you're referring to is a documentary about world leaders, not about Meghan and Harry. Please don't let your sneering hatred for a couple you don't know get in the way of simple, basic facts.

Lmao one of the more prominent Daily Mail editors/"royal experts"/Royal Family press darlings just outed himself as having a Meghan-hating sock puppet Twitter account. Man, this thing just writes itself.
