You have your own religion? How did you start it? BTW we serve mock tails my company and my wife attended twice when pregnant. She ate food, had a Virgin pina colada or a soda. I only drink 2-3 drinks as wife with me a boss. Very little drinking going on. I have more cokes and coffee then liquor |
Why are you having all these social events during a COVID surge right before the holidays? I would decline to participate as well. |
Fact of life business is a pyramid scheme. It is up or out. For every 55-65 year old person at work there are 10x the amount of 25-35 year old people.
The difference is literally attending work events. My old company 10 years ago had an event and people were asking where was I. When I got reached out to I realized not a single person out of the 10-15 people I actually worked with directly. All socializing. I have 95 percent of my connections through events. For instance one party back in 1997 we did mechanical Bull riding in suits. I got tossed hard so did my coworker. He happens to be a CEO now. I ran into him and he started laughing and joking about our bull ride from 25 years ago!! No way he would remember me otherwise |
Wear a kn95 Or skip it Don’t risk your health for some dumb work event No one should be requiring in person maskless attendance at events right now |
No one is forcing you to drink alcohol. You can have a ginger ale or sparkling water with lime. Bunch of dimwits on this thread |
OP, you should be thrilled! Your job isn’t being threatened by your subordinates since they obviously lack the common sense and political savvy to see the networking opportunity right in front of them. Those kids will just quiet quit and lateral move to a different company and do the same. |
Dimwits are the people who think cocktail parties at work should be mandatory. |
You're right no one is forcing me, but going to a party centered around alcohol is also frowned upon. |
It's called Islam. There are a lot of countries where alcohol is forbidden. I guess you don't travel outside of the US much or have Muslim friends/co-workers. |
Please, stop. |
Young workers aren't millenials! They are Gen Z! |
And then OP will be on here complaining about why these young people keep leaving. She will be completely unable to see the connection. |
That’s great! In 1997, I was in the third grade. |
And what’s wrong with that? So freaking entitled… |
What Covid surge? |
