Are you still doing general doctors visits for your kids?

Anonymous
I need to get my kids teeth cleaned. I also need to do some general annual visits for them (allergist and kidney doctor). is it okay to start doing these visits now? Or should we still wait? How long are you waiting before you start up these visits again? I have stayed on top of any vaccinations but other than that we haven't gone to the doctors since this whole thing started. Kids are young (5 months, 3 and 5 years old).

I'm not waiting on doctor's visits.

I've had 3 sudden deaths in my circle. A co-worker, a church friend, and a disabled child. None were Covid deaths.

We’ve did both in June - semi annual dentist visit and annual well check at the pediatrician

I'm doing the doctor and dentist between July and September. Get everything done before the weather gets colder.

I'm in Texas and we reopened on May 1. I was too anxious to get my kids' dentist and doctor's appointments done right away. Now the cases are rising. We had appointments scheduled this week. husband got sick the other day with what I'm assuming is food poisoning, but because the symptoms (fever, GI problems) are similar to Covid symptoms, I now how to wait another two weeks to take the kids in. Do it now.

We're doing a med-check at the pediatrician for my son, and dental cleanings for all the kids.

And I'm ready to admit I can't see and need glasses, so I'm scheduling an optometry appt. Better now than in Fall/Winter, I guess.

You haven't taken your 5 month old to even get 2 month and 4 month vaccines?

You bet. Well checks, vaccinations, dental checkups have all happened.

Yes of course

We are waiting. Not worth the risk of going in. A specialist, yes, regular routine, no.

Baby probably isn't going anywhere. They can do them later. But, they said they did vaccines.

I feel like our doctor's office is taking every precaution and feel very safe doing kids' appointments. Frankly, it's probably safer than the grocery store where you constantly have unmasked idiots.

My 2.5yo went in to the ped. Haven't seen the dentist.

I made appointments for DS and I for dental, eye, and annual check ups. We made the appointments so that they were the first ones in the day and we will wear masks.

I just took our dog for his eye appointment, he has glaucoma. The Vets office was interesting. You parked, called the front desk, told them your space, they came and get your pet, you wait in the car. The Vet called to talk to me about what she saw. The person who returned the dog had a bag with his meds and a copy of the Doctors notes. Very limited comment. So there are some Vet practices with good practices if you need to bring a pet to the Vet.
