Are they primarily meant for drinks instead of actual foods that needs to be kept cold to prevent spoiling? |
They probably set the temp high to save energy. Is there a dial inside you can adjust? |
Hmm I find the opposite and have had many bags of carrots/veggies freeze. |
The temp is just turned up. I usually just crank down the temp. |
Is that fridge in a bathroom? That’s kind of gross if it is.
|
No. I think the sink and faucet area of the room is just outside of the area where the toilet and shower/tub are. |
Because it a mini fridge. No explanation needed.
If you want cold - go buy a freezer at Lowe’s |
How can you expect a hotel room to have a full size fridge though? |
+1 |
What property/chain were you staying at? |
I (used to) travel every month and for ages was pumping on those trips, so I have a lot of experience with hotel mini fridges. I have *never* experienced something freezing, even when put into the freezer. Generally, things stay pretty warm for having been in a fridge. |
I have never encountered one while traveling where the temperature was as cold as my fridge at home. |
+2 Small beach motel. But it’s happened in larger hotels too, if it wasn’t primarily a mini bar fridge. Maybe prior guest adjusted it too low? |
I was just at the beach this weekend. Mini fridge in the hotel did not feel cold at all when I opened it. I cranked it to 5 and kept it closed and everything was ice cold the next morning. It still never felt cold to me when I opened it and felt inside but it was working. |
Some of them are just coolers. When we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, they had signs specifying that they wouldn’t keep things below 40. |
